Red Carpet Trend: Glowing Skin at the 2016 Golden Globes

January 11, 2016 admin

Makeup looks at the 2016 Golden Globes focused on natural beauty with an enhanced, dewy glow, often paired with a nude or bold lip and lush lash. Our Director of Makeup, Kelli J. Bartlett, shares her tips and tricks to get the look.

Start with very matte skin and add deliberately placed highlights to give added dimension and sparkle. Begin with a primer like Make Up For Ever skin equalizing matte primer. Using your hands, apply a pea-sized amount to your t-zone and blend outwards, making sure to hit the crevices of the nose and apples of the cheeks. Follow with Giorgio Armani’s Designer Lift Foundation, buffed into the skin with a fluffy fiber brush to give a satiny smooth appearance.

Use a shimmery, illuminating bronzer to contour and highlight, adding sparkle and glow and creating depth to the skin. Tilt the head to the side you are working on, with your ear almost touching your shoulder. Stick your brush inside of the hollow, underneath the bone, blending back toward your ear and down at an angle toward your mouth.  My favorite  highlighting products are Becca’s Highlighter in Moonstone and Charlotte Tilbury’s Film Star Bronze and Glow.
