Miami Swim Week 2017 Trend: Playful Makeup at Maaji
The 2017 Maaji Swimwear runway was all about playful colors and patterns, paired with the ultimate beach babe beauty. Led by our Director of Makeup, Kelli J Bartlett, the inspiration behind the Maaji makeup was a flirty cateye complemented by a peach cheek that mirrored the colors of the collection.
Follow Kelli’s tips to recreate the sexy, summer makeup look below!
1. For the eyes, we created a sculpted and structured cateye. We started by priming the eye with a neutral-toned primer. Then, using Laura Geller’s Inkcredible Gel Eyeliner Pencil in black, begin at the outside corner of the eye and draw in the wing. Complete the liner by going back to the inside corner and starting with a thinner line, gradually building on it as you move toward the outside corner. Finish the eye by packing on tons of mascara.
2. For the cheeks, we used a cream apricot blush for a warm, dewy glow. When applying the blush, I always use the “smile and swoop” technique, so you smile and then swipe the brush so the color follows the contour of your cheek.
3. For skin, we used Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Finishing Powder.for naturally airbrushed matte skin.
4. For lips, we used OCC Lip Tar to lightly line lips with a neutral pencil and press the tar into the lips, shmooshing with a finger.
