Glam In The News: CVS Launches In-Store Beauty Service With Glamsquad
The squad is making moves beyond the comfort of your couch…We’re headed to your local CVS! In an effort to break out of the traditional drugstore beauty mold, the mass market retailer knew that tapping into the squad would set them apart from their competitors.
As part of the partnership, CVS created a shop-in-shop format called BeautyIRL, where Glamsquad express services are the focal point. This dedicated space brings the whole elevated beauty experience to life with on-site express blowouts, dry styling and braids, a 30-minute makeup refresher, skincare services including eye, lip and face masks, and in some stores, manicures (all ranging from $30-$45).
In August, CVS unveiled four new concept stores with Glamsquad services – two in Florida, one in Stamford, CT and one in Andover, Mass.
With CVS as a partner, we’re on a path to redefine how women experience beauty, furthering our mission to bring intelligent, data-driven technology and unique personalization to connect like-minded beauty enthusiasts across the country. Our CEO, Amy Shecter explains, “We connected with CVS last year and quickly realized that we had a similar point of view around the future of how consumers engage with beauty services and products. Our discussions led to CVS making an investment in Glamsquad and we created a strategic partnership. This investment instantly extends the Glamsquad community and creates a connected beauty experience that transcends everything that exists in the market today. Our focus will be on new market growth with the expansion into CVS BeautyIRL stores.”
