Runway Recap: Backstage Beauty at Lela Rose Bridal Fall 2020
For Fall 2020 Bridal, Lela Rose gave the classic bride a modern twist, with versatile styles for any occasion, from the rehearsal dinner to the wedding night and after party. There was a mix of bold pant looks, lovely femme gowns, and spunky short dresses.
Satin, lace, and feathers aside, the beauty looks were able to stand alone. Glowy, flushed skin was paired with lush waves swept into a crafted low pony. Our Artistic Directors, Kelli J. Bartlett and Giovanni Vaccaro share their tips tricks and product picks so you can DIY the looks on your own!
-Prep the skin with a hydrating rich moisturizer.
-Groom the brows into place with a brow gel. Use a tinted one like Lime Crime for more shape and color.
-Curl the lashes and neutralize the lid, using a creamy shadow or concealer.
-Use a white pencil to brighten the inner corner of the eye – then add Benefit HIGH BEAM to the inner tear duct, pressing it in with your finger.
-Add a coat of brown mascara.
-Apply a bright pink cream blush to the top oval of the cheek, mixing in Glamsquad’s Enlightened Highlighter in Moonlit for radiance on the cheeks and nose.
-Use a pinky blue lipstick, pressed into the lips, then smudged to create a flushed look.
-Use Glamsquad FULL EFFECT volumizing mousse and apply to the roots to give them lift.
-Once fully dry, create a dramatic side part using the arch of the eye brow as your guide going back.
-Take a 1 inch section of hair from your part to the top of the ear and use creaseless clips to lay down hair and keep it in place. This hair will be used to wrap around your pony to hide the elastic.
-Take 2 inch sections of hair starting from the back and curl by wrapping the hair around a curling iron barrel, leaving 1 inch of the ends and 1 inch of the roots out. Do this continuously throughout the head while alternating your curls.
-SprayGlamsquad’s THE UNTAMED texture spray through the ends to give them texture and body.
-Lightly tease the roots all over the help create a lasting shape.
-Create a low pony by gathering all of the hair except for the 1 inch front section back and secure with an elastic.
-Then take the front section and wrap it around the elastic to hide it.
-Pin the ends in using a bobby pin.
-Finish with Glamsquad’s TAKE HOLD hair spray.
