Runway Recap: Backstage Beauty at Danielle Frankel Bridal Fall 2020
When it comes to bridal, edgy isn’t a word that typically comes to mind. For Fall 2020, emerging designer Danielle Frankel tested the norm and brought an unexpected, cool-girl edge to the bridal world. Frankel mixed traditional feminine elements, such as satin and lace, with tougher materials like chunky belts, leather gloves, and a metallic cone bra. When describing her collection, she said to forget what you think you know about bridal.
The beauty looks, created by our Artistic Directors, Giovanni Vaccaro and Kelli J. Bartlett, reflected the same rough and rugged, yet light and artful energy. Meticulous bridal buns were traded for perfectly crafted bedhead hair. The makeup was flushed and earthy; the right amount of glow paired with ethereal roughness.
